Introducing CenterScape
CenterScapeTM by RF Code is a scalable software package designed for integrating RF Code Sensors and Asset tracking hardware for various use cases including the tracking and monitoring of assets in Datacenter Environments, the monitoring of Environmental Conditions in Datacenter environments. CenterScape can also be used in, custom applications in hospital, industrial, and office environments.
When deployed with active RFID tags and readers, CenterScape compares the assigned location of each asset with its detected location for real-time auditing. Automated alerts and reports can be con- figured for immediate notification of asset location or environmental condition changes, delivering savings in both cost and time. All current and historical asset attributes, such as asset location, financial information, scheduled service dates, and contractual information, can be maintained in a database, enabling complete asset life cycle management. Inventory reports are available at the touch of a button so users can proactively respond to audits and automate their regulatory compliance efforts.
The major components of the CenterScape data center solution are:
- CenterScape Application Server - This is the main application server responsible for alerting, high order calculations, configuration, data storage, reporting, and the associations of physical tags to persistent asset objects.
- CenterScape Web User Interface – This is the user interface for CenterScape that is used to configure and interact with CenterScape
- CenterScape Rest API – JSON based REST interface for integration with other systems or automations.
- Zone Manager(s) also known as CenterScape Core – Responsible for evaluating raw tag tag data from readers, updating reader firmware, maintaining reader connections, and communicating coalesced data to the CenterScape Application Server. An instance of CenterScape Core is included with the CenterScape Application Server install an is sufficient for most RF Code deployments.
- Active RFID tags for location detection or sensor telemetry – These include asset tags, IR equipped asset tags, dry contact sensors, fluid detectors, Rack PDU tags, Temperature and Humidity sensors, and other type RF Code Active RFID tags
- RFID Tags and Readers – The only RF Code manufactured hardware that is physically installed on the network, readers receive raw beacons from tags and forward them to CenterScape Core for processing. Readers are capable of multiple connections to CenterScape Core instances which is especially useful for test and dev environments that can consume data in parallel to production CenterScape instances.
- IR Locators – Consisting of Room Locators and Rack Locators, these devices broadcast a single unique code in the infrared spectrum that can be seen by IR equipped asset tags to provide more precise location detection.
